Another G2E is in the books — and after nearly three decades of walking that show floor (these days in much more sensible shoes), I can tell you there is always a different energy to each one.
This year? Fast.
Technology is moving fast. Our guests are changing fast. And the conversations happening across G2E made it pretty clear that what worked even six months ago may not be what works tomorrow.
One of my favorite conversations of the week took us off the Strip with Power Promotions owner Dean Katris and analytics expert Michael Minniear. Dean described today’s pace of change as almost like “dog years,” while Michael joked that when he talks about the “old days,” he means six months ago.
But underneath all that technology was a very familiar message: listen to your guests. Use the data to understand what they respond to, stop doing what isn’t working and customize the experience — from the marketing that brings them through the door to the games they find when they get there.
And that was just one conversation. Check out our G2E Recap stories and interviews for more ideas, insights and familiar faces from another great G2E.
