Coco Poker Raises Over $100,000 for Local Charities

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (September 6, 2023) – Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is proud to announce that Coco Poker has raised over $100,000 for charity in the past year by hosting charity poker tournaments alongside various local organizations.

Aside from funds raised for charity, the tournaments have awarded thousands of dollars in prizes to winners as well as featuring surprise bounties and special guest appearances. Special appearances, known in poker as bounties, have featured a variety of notable South Floridians looking to give back including the MMA’s Colby “Chaos” Covington, former NFL player Bob “Bru” Brudzinski, Parkland Mayor Richard Walker and Coconut Creek Mayor Josh Rydell.

The most recent Coco Poker charity tournament, hosted on August 22, benefited the George Snow Scholarship Fund and raised $10,000, plus increased awareness for the cause. The George Snow Scholarship Fund’s mission is to help hard working students in South Florida to graduate from college by providing financial aid and wrap-around support services. Their goal is to ensure that no student is deprived of an education because of a shortage of funds or a lack of support.

Other organizations that have benefited from Coco Poker’s charitable poker tournaments in the past year are the NFL Alumni’s Caring for Kids, Irreverent Warriors, Rodriguez Charities, and the Hard Rock Heals Foundation.

“We’re honored to host these charity poker tournaments for such great causes,” said Kelly Mautner, Director of Poker. “These organizations are doing terrific things to support our local community and it is a great opportunity for us to give back alongside them when hosting these tournaments. We encourage every person to take time to be kind.”

Coco Poker is a smoke-free location, complete with 30 tables, tableside dining, a dedicated bar, and South Florida’s only private luxury poker salon.
