Airway Heights, WA (February 21, 2022) – Calling all Zags fans! Don’t miss your chance to meet the outstanding players of the Gonzaga Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams and get your photo taken at this special West Coast Conference Championship send-off!
On Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 3 to 5 p.m., both the Men’s and Women’s teams will be making a special appearance at Northern Quest Resort & Casino as part of the first-ever full team Gonzaga basketball Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal, giving fans the opportunity to meet the team outside of McCarthey Center.
The Kalispel Tribe of Indians and Northern Quest Resort & Casino are committed to supporting both the Gonzaga Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams as they push toward their shot at the WCC title and a bid toward the National Championships. In that spirit, they’re inviting fans to a special meet and greet photo opportunity at Northern Quest. For a two-hour block, a limited number of attendees will be able to meet the team, pose for a free digital photo opportunity and wish the Zags luck on the upcoming WCC Tournament.
“We’re so thrilled to give local fans a chance to meet the outstanding players from the Gonzaga Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams at Northern Quest,” says Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority Chief Operating Officer Phil Haugen. “While we all get to watch Gonzaga on TV, it’s not often you get the opportunity to meet them in person. Since access to games at McCarthey Center is limited, we wanted a chance to give everyone access to meeting these amazing young athletes. We’re so lucky to have the Zags in Spokane. They continue to inspire all of us and prove that if you work hard enough, dreams really can come true.”
Join the festivities, including an appearance by Spike, the team mascot. While only the first 100-plus fans may get the whole digital-photo treatment, everyone in attendance will receive an exclusive Gonzaga basketball poster and eligibility into several giveaways. Food and beverage vendors will be on-site serving a variety of foods, with access to the nearby food court for additional quick-bite options. Line up for this family-friendly event in the southeast corner of the Northern Quest Resort & Casino campus, near Windfall and Kids Quest/Cyber Quest. Photo opportunities with the teams are on a first-come, first-served basis as time allows.
In accordance with current Northern Quest policies, all attendees who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear masks. Due to time constraints, Gonzaga athletes will be unable to sign personal items, including memorabilia.
Join the incredible athletes from the Gonzaga Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams at Northern Quest and wish them the best of luck on their upcoming WCC Tournament games, as they get one step closer to representing Spokane in the NCAA Tournament. Go Zags!
