HIGHLAND, Calif. (May 29, 2026) — San Manuel Investment Authority (SMIA), an unincorporated governmental instrumentality of Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation (Nation), through its affiliated entities, announced today the completion of its acquisition of The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, the landmark historic property in the heart of downtown Riverside, California.
The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, a National Historic Landmark that has defined Riverside’s cultural and civic identity for more than a century, has become the latest addition to the Nation’s expanding non-gaming hospitality portfolio, reflecting its expertise and capabilities gained over the past 40 years as owner and operator of both gaming and non-gaming assets.
As a sovereign nation with deep ancestral ties to the Inland Empire, the Nation is invested in the preservation of the property, driven by a longstanding connection to the land and its people.
“The Mission Inn is more than a landmark. It is a living institution — one that has witnessed more than a century of California history and has been woven into the lives of this region’s families, including our own. We are honored to carry that legacy forward with the same dedication to maintaining its historic dignity and prominence,” said Lynn Valbuena, Chairwoman of San Manuel Investment Authority and Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation.
Pyramid Global Hospitality, a leading hotel and hospitality management company with more than 200 properties under management worldwide, has been retained to manage The Mission Inn and oversee day-to-day operations, effective today.
