National Center Offering a Free Webinar on USDA Capital Loan Guarantee Program

Webinar to help tribes, tribal businesses, and small and native-owned businesses navigate the program to help meet capital needs during the pandemic

Phoenix, AZ — Today, The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (The National Center) announced a Working Capital Loans During the Pandemic: Business and Industry CARES Act Program webinar with partner Live Oak Bank. The Business and Industry CARES Act Program, administered through U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development, has made available up to $1 billion in loan guarantees to help rural and tribal businesses meet their working capital needs during the Coronavirus pandemic. During this training we’ll look at: What the funds can be used for, who is eligible to obtain funding, what is the loan process, loan application and decision timelines, and more. As part of our effort to better serve Native Businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Center has gathered a team of experts from Live Oak Bank, as well as a representative from USDA, to help walk you through the USDA Capital Loan Program. Here are some of our expert speakers who will be joining us on August 31, 2020:

  • Tedd Buelow, Native American Coordinator, USDA Office of Rural Development
    • Tedd Buelow works to increase access to USDA’s Rural Development programs for Tribes and Tribal Members. Tedd has held multiple roles at USDA, as well as working for the Community Development Financial Institution’s Native American program team at the Treasury Department.
  • Kay Anderson, Executive Vice President of Emerging Markets, Live Oak Bank
    • A senior lender with 28 years of Small Business Administration and USDA lending experience, Kay focuses on business owners who have financial needs not currently being met by traditional lenders.
  • Anna West, USDA Lending Team, Live Oak Bank
    • Anna has 8 years of experience working at USDA across all departments. In 2018, she funded close to $100 million in infrastructure projects through various programs in rural communities.
  • Chip Mahan III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Live Oak Bank
    • Chip Mahan III is the CEO and Chairman of Live Oak Bank, specializing in providing lending and deposit services to small businesses nationwide. Chip is also the founder of Security First Network Bank, one of the world’s first internet banks.
