Are you a super fan? Owning a one of a kind guitar signed by one of your favorite musical artists of all time, pretty awesome, right? One of these guitars can be yours today for as little as $250. Think about it, that’s just one trip to the big warehouse store for a year’s worth of cereal – plus your purchase helps kids and is a charitable write-off. So, why not for a piece of history?

We’ve got 15 signed guitars and we need to get them in the hands of fans like you. Or you dad. Or your best friend who’s birthday is coming up soon. Or your brother that plays air guitar every chance he gets. Or your best customer. We know there’s a home for these incredible guitars.

Cool story. Cool cause.

Just about six years ago, gaming and hospitality firm Raving, created the first annual Native Strong Comedy Slam and Jam event to benefit the Notah Begay III Foundation.

And yes, that Notah Begay III: the only full-blooded Native American four-time PGA Tour winner and current golf analyst for NBC Sports and The Golf Channel. In 2005, Begay launched the Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation to reduce childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes among Native American youth. The foundation has grown immensely: to date over 80K Native youth have been assisted and over $10 million has been invested in Native communities; 136 grants to Native-led organizations in 15 states. These are your kids and your neighbors. And they need help.

So why the NB3 Foundation? And what’s the connection with a gaming company? Here’s the backstory. Raving chose to fundraise for the NB3 Foundation when their founder (who has since retired in very good health, BTW), was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Through his work in Indian country, he read a lot about the work of the NB3 Foundation and how to prevent and reverse the disease through a healthy lifestyle. He was greatly moved by their commitment to help Native youth defeat this epidemic. He used this knowledge to change his own life. Since his diagnosis and journey back to health, Raving has since become Native-owned and continues that commitment to raise money for the NB3 Foundation each year!

Guitars expand reach and fundraising potential

Event organizers realized that there was only so much money they could raise with the Native Strong Comedy Slam and Jam in one night – only so many tickets could be sold for this one and done event. So to increase their fundraising potential, they reached out to Tribal casinos to donate signed guitars from artists that had played at their venues. Fifteen one of a kind guitars, some electric and some acoustic, were generously donated as well as signed posters and photographs.

These guitars are available for auction to any music fan or generous friend of a music fan (hint: you’d make your BFF’s year). Bidders don’t have to be present at the final event! All bids are taken online at https://one.bidpal.net/comedyslam/browse/all. Bidding is open NOW and will end the night of the Native Strong Comedy Slam and Jam, which takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego on March 26, 2020.
