Cambridge, Wis., (March 7, 2024) — Canndigenous, the first independent Indigenous-owned hemp company based in Wisconsin, will release its new line of cannabis seltzers during the 2024 Reservation Economic Summit (RES), taking place in Las Vegas, March 11-14. Like all Canndigenous products, Uptempo/Downtempo THC and CBD/CBN Seltzers are crafted with wellness in mind and rooted in a mission to responsibly and safely increase accessibility of plant-based medicine.
The new products will debut at RES 2024, presented by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED). The national event will promote this year’s theme of Strength in Unity and feature Tribal leaders, members of Congress, federal agency representatives, state and local officials, and top CEOs on a national platform. Canndigenous Founder Rob Pero (Bad River), who is also the founder of the Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association (ICIA), will be speaking alongside ICIA Executive Director Mary Jane Oatman (Nez Perce) at RES during the “Organizing Tribes to Ensure Sovereignty is Protected in Cannabis Reform” on Tuesday, March 12.
Sales of Canndigenous’ Uptempo/Downtempo Seltzers benefit the ICIA and its mission to promote the exploration, development and advancement of the cannabis industry for the benefit of Indigenous people.
”As we work to increase accessibility to plant medicine with the release of Uptempo/Downtempo, we’re also creating meaningful relationships with national nanotechnology companies that are actively seeking partnerships with Indigenous growers to provide hemp biomass. Hemp and cannabis industry leaders are expressing a desire to build Indigenous agricultural elements into their supply chain,” said Pero. “RES is a nationwide platform promoting Indigenous economic development and industry innovation. It is the perfect time to celebrate the release of our first seltzers and continue our mission to build sustainable economic opportunity for the Indigenous-led hemp and cannabis industry.”
As a member of ICIA, Canndigenous supports the nonprofit advocacy organization’s mission to increase opportunity in hemp and cannabis for the benefit of all Indigenous communities. The ICIA is currently seeking to network with Indigenous growers who can supply hemp biomass for the growing cannabis sector.
“Indigenous cannabis is the largest opportunity in cannabis today. This release is also a call-to-action for Indigenous hemp farmers and producers,” said Pero. “As the ICIA continues to grow our network, we’re seeking to connect and promote other Indigenous-led industry leaders throughout the supply chain.”
