Brooks, Calif. – The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and Cache Creek Casino Resort Executive leadership are pleased to announce reopening plans for Cache Creek Casino Resort. The general public will be welcomed back to Cache Creek Casino Resort on June 8 at noon.
On March 17, the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation made the momentous decision to close Cache Creek Casino Resort for the first time in over 30 years. That decision was made to protect our guests, employees and community members from the spread of COVID-19, and was made before state and county mandates for closures within their jurisdictions. As the first to close in Northern California, we are now one of the last to re-open, all the while maintaining full pay and benefits for over 2,300 employees.
“We are pleased to announce reopening with great caution and preparation. While we cannot stress enough how much we have missed our guests and employees, this will be a new normal for all of us. On June 8, we will open to the public with controlled, limited occupancy and strict COVID-19 protocols. As an additional measure to thwart COVID-19, Cache Creek Casino Resort will be opening without some restaurants and services. Valet service, bussing service, poker, and the Harvest Buffet will remain closed for the time being.
Planning for the safety of guests and staff in a reopened resort began the day the resort closed. Now, nearly three months later the casino floor is being completely reconfigured to reduce occupancy and promote social distancing. Additionally, a comprehensive safety and sanitization plan has been developed that comports with recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of California, and local health officials.
Safety measures include, but are not limited to:
- Temperature screening with non-invasive thermal camera technology upon entry for all guests and employees. People with temperature readings over 100 degrees will not be permitted entry.
- Protective masks or face coverings are required for all guests and employees. Increased cleaning and sanitization protocols.
- Increased hand sanitization stations and sanitizing wipes available in the casino. Gaming positions have been reduced, where necessary to promote social distancing. All restaurants and amenities will have strict occupancy limitations.
- COVID-19 and PPE training for employees.
- Continued evaluation of the need for adjusted protocols.
