SHERIDAN, Wyo. (November 4, 2026) — Sovara Nation Pay today announced the launch of the company, a majority Native-owned payment processing provider created to give businesses honest, transparent credit card processing, with every fee disclosed up front and no long-term commitments. Sovara Nation Pay will give 10 percent of its profits to Tribal nonprofits.
Sovara Nation Pay is majority-owned and controlled by enrolled Tribal members who set the direction of the company. Its Native owners are Gene Dixon of the Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians, Justin Barrett of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, and Matt QuisQuis of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians. Richard Ciesco serves as Co-Founder and CEO, and Shane Urry serves as Co-Founder and President; both hold minority ownership shares.
“Many business owners have no idea what they pay to take cards” said Shane Urry, Co-Founder and President of Sovara Nation Pay. “We built Sovara Nation Pay so every merchant can see exactly what they’re paying, keep more of their revenue, and know that every card they run helps Tribal communities.”
Transparent pricing with no long-term commitments
Sovara Nation Pay uses interchange-plus pricing, so merchants see two costs on every sale: the card network costs, passed through at cost with no markup, and one processing fee agreed in writing before signing. Any other fee is itemized in the written quote, and accounts are month-to-month.
Businesses can accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay through one merchant account, in person with countertop terminals, online with secure checkout, on the go with mobile readers, or by invoice with a pay link.
To help businesses understand their current costs, Sovara Nation Pay offers a free Rate Analyzer at sovaranationpay.com. Merchants upload a processing statement and receive their true effective rate and any hidden markups or extra fees found, plus an instant quote if they qualify. Statements are deleted as soon as the analysis is complete. As an example, a business with $50,000 in monthly card sales and an effective rate of 3.5% pays $21,000 a year in processing fees; lowering that rate by half a percentage point would keep $3,000 a year in the business. Savings depend on card mix, volume and current pricing and are not guaranteed.
A giveback built into the business
Sovara Nation Pay will give 10 percent of its profits to Tribal nonprofits across the country. The contribution is calculated after operating costs and set aside before the owners take a share, and it will be written into the company’s operating agreement. The company’s initial nonprofit partners, chosen by its Native owners, are the Tribal Leadership Council, a Native-led nonprofit in Lawton, Oklahoma, and the Native Youth Foundation, which works to inspire, educate and uplift Indigenous children.
“Giving back isn’t an afterthought for us.” said Gene Dixon, Co-Owner of Sovara Nation Pay. “It’s part of how Sovara Nation Pay is built. Every business that processes with us helps support Tribal communities.”
Serving Tribal nations and every business
Sovara Nation Pay serves Tribal nations and enterprises, including hotels, dining, retail, fuel and government services, with RFP-ready documentation, as well as shops, restaurants, service businesses, online and mobile sellers, and business-to-business and government suppliers. As a Native-owned vendor, the company supports Tribal procurement goals and Native-vendor preference policies.
Sovara Nation pay also serves non-Native businesses that want a fair deal with a good cause. Each customer works with a dedicated representative who knows their account and keeps reviewing their statements as the business grows.
Merchant accounts, pricing and applications are provided through First Nationwide Payments, Inc., a registered ISO of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Concord, CA.
