Snoqualmie Casino Remains Open

Following a working call with Governor Jay Inslee and Washington Tribes on Wednesday, Snoqualmie Casino remains open to guests.  During the call, the Tribes specifically asked the Governor if the intention of his executive order was for casinos to close.  He made it clear that he did not expect casinos to close; rather, his order focused on concerts, sporting events, and other large public gatherings of that nature.  Earlier in the day, Governor Inslee announced an executive order prohibiting public gatherings of 250 people or more in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties.

Prior to the Governor’s announcement, Snoqualmie Casino had already taken steps to reschedule several upcoming concerts to later dates. “While we are confident that our concert guests would have been safe due to the outstanding efforts of our cleaning teams and the precautionary measures we have put in place, we wanted to ensure that our guests would be able to enjoy future shows free from any outside worry or concern.” states Snoqualmie Casino Interim CEO and President Stanford Le.

In the early stages of the COVID-19 health crisis, the Snoqualmie Casino quickly implemented the following measures to ensure guest and team member safety:

  • Wiping down machines and touched surfaces as frequently as every 30 minutes with the highest quality cleaning agents recommended by the CDC
  • Supporting guests’ and team members’ own efforts by increasing the number of hand sanitizers throughout the property for all to use
  • Encouraging time off and showing amnesty for vulnerable team members and for those who might care for others
  • Providing ongoing education to encourage frequent hand washing and good hygienic practices
  • Implementing self-quarantine for those team members who returned from China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea while looking to follow CDC recommendations for any additional impacted countries
  • Additionally, the building’s ventilation system refreshes the facility with new air eight times per hour

Says Le, “Our top priority is the safety of our guests and team members and we will continue to work with the CDC and local government to implement safeguards against COVID-19.”
