A Tradition of Gratitude: Firekeepers Casino Hotel Helps Families Celebrate Thanksgiving

Thousands of families will receive holiday meal support as FireKeepers extends its commitment to community care.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (November 24, 2025) — FireKeepers Casino Hotel is proud to carry on a cherished holiday tradition with the donation of 2,600 turkeys to five regional food banks and The Kendall Street Pantry in Battle Creek. Now in its sixteenth year, this effort reflects FireKeepers’ commitment to supporting families across the region and ensuring more households can enjoy a traditional holiday meal together.

This year, the South Michigan Food Bank in Battle Creek will once again receive 1,500 turkeys to directly support local families. Four additional food banks across Michigan and northern Indiana will each receive 200 turkeys to help meet seasonal demand in their communities. The receiving organizations include:

  • Community Harvest Food Bank located in Fort Wayne, Ind.
  • Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank located in Comstock Park, Mich.
  • Food Gatherers located in Ann Arbor, Mich.
  • Greater Lansing Food Bank located in Lansing, Mich.

The Kendall Street Pantry, owned and funded by FireKeepers and supported by dedicated volunteers including FireKeepers team members, will also receive 300 turkeys in December to assist families during the Christmas season.

“Giving back to the community is a foundational value at FireKeepers,” stated FireKeepers Casino Hotel CEO Frank Tecumseh. “We know the holidays can be difficult for many families, and this donation is one way we can help support our neighbors and ensure more households can share a meaningful mean with loved ones.”

FireKeepers will once again host a complimentary Thanksgiving meal at Battle Creek Central Commons on Thursday, November 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In partnership with their owners, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, they are expanding this year’s effort with a second meal site at Athens High School during the same hours to help meet growing community need. FireKeepers works closely with local organizations to invite community members experiencing food insecurity to share in a warm, nourishing meal served with care.

FireKeepers’ dedication to strengthening the community extends far beyond the holiday season. Through contributions made by the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB), a strong focus on local purchasing, and year-round employee volunteerism, FireKeepers continues to play an active role in supporting programs, organizations, and initiatives that uplift the region.

With every turkey delivered and every volunteer effort shared, FireKeepers Casino Hotel is honored to stand with its neighbors and bring comfort and connection to families throughout the holiday season.
