Tulsa, OK (November 19, 2025) — Tribal Self-Governance (TSG) proudly announces that its original docuseries, For Our People: Stories of Tribal Self-Governance & Sovereignty, has won a 2025 Anthem Award for social impact storytelling. The series’ award-winning episode showcases the Quinault Indian Nation’s extraordinary, community-driven efforts to ensure the safety and future of their people amid rapidly changing conditions.
The honored episode features the Quinault Indian Nation’s leadership in relocating entire neighborhoods to higher ground in response to rising sea levels, intensified storms, and changing ecosystems on their ancestral lands.
By sharing first-hand accounts from tribal council members, elders, scientists, and community members, the film highlights the power of self-determination and the need for flexible federal resources to support Indigenous-led adaptation. The story celebrates the resilience and ingenuity of the Quinault people, who are building new neighborhoods while advocating for policies that ensure tribal sovereignty and long-term security.
“Our vision for For Our People has always been to elevate the authentic leadership and strength of Tribal Nations,” said Jay Spaan, Executive Director of Tribal Self-Governance. “We are honored to receive this Anthem Award, which recognizes not only the achievements of the Quinault Indian Nation but also the transformative impact of self-governance and tribal sovereignty in shaping brighter futures for all Native communities.”
The 5th Annual Anthem Awards received more than 2,000 submissions from 42 countries worldwide. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities.
