Tribal Leadership Council Announces a Contribution from Amazon

WYANDOTTE, OKLAHOMA (December 6, 2023) – The Tribal Leadership Council (TLC) is excited to announce a $25,000 contribution from Amazon for the sponsorship of our Tribal Leader grant program.

The TLC will launch this groundbreaking grant program for tribal nations at the 2024 Reservation Economic Summit (RES 2024). Those eligible to apply are elected or appointed tribal leaders from tribal nations who do not normally attend due to a lack of funding from their business operations, or no business operations exist to provide funding for the tribal government.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to thank Amazon and their Global Equity Office for their generous contribution to our grant program,” said Chairman of the TLC Board of Directors Justin Barrett. “We look forward to our continued partnership and the ability to bring more tribal leaders to RES 2024 for the benefit of Indian Country.”

“We’re honored to contribute to the Tribal Leadership Council’s groundbreaking Tribal Leader Grant Program,” said Derek Eagle Lee LaRance, Head of Global Indigenous Affairs at Amazon. “This partnership shows both of our organization’s commitment to supporting diverse communities by leveraging opportunities like this to empower Tribal Nation leadership. This collaboration underscores Amazon’s commitment to making a positive impact in Indian Country.”
