Determined to prioritize the health and wellness of its guests and staff amid concerns about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Thunder Valley Casino Resort today announced additional preventive measures to encourage social distancing and protect the public.
While the resort has experienced no reported cases of COVID-19, its owners and managers are taking a host of precautionary measures to mitigate any potential spread of the virus. Resort officials will continue to follow directives from the Centers for Disease Control and local public health authorities and will make additional adjustments to its policies as needed in the future.
“The health and safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority, and we will take every measure necessary to ensure their well-being,” said Dawn Clayton, General Manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. “We are closely tracking every new development related to COVID-19 and we will remain vigilant in our compliance with all requirements established by public health officials.”
To limit large gatherings and provide more opportunities for safe social distancing, Thunder Valley has:
- Postponed all concerts for the remainder of March, including Thunder from Down Under, Queen Nation, and the Maria Cordero with Special Guest Lei Lei concert.
- Closed The Buffet, which frequently attracts more than 250 guests and employees at a time in close proximity.

- Reduced the number of available slot machines by 50% to increase spacing between guests and to ensure social distancing and increased the intensity and frequency of cleaning.
- Reduced the number of long-distance bus runs and imposed safe-spacing rules to increase spacing between passengers to ensure social distancing.
- Strengthened public information efforts by providing frequent public announcements and other forms of communications for guests to reinforce health-related messages (hand-washing, social distancing, refraining from casino attendance if sick, etc.)
These measures follow earlier actions taken by the resort in response to COVID-19, including increasing all cleaning protocols, disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces on a regular schedule, and placing hand-sanitizing stations throughout the property, including at all entrances.
Thunder Valley is also encouraging team members and guests to take precautions by frequently washing hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds, covering all coughs and sneezes with a tissue, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth, staying home when sick, and avoiding contact with anyone who is ill.
