(October 1, 2022) — The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Sacramento, California, has announced a star-studded President’s Day Weekend grand opening with the Eagles, Bruno Mars and Santana Feb. 17, Feb. 18 and Feb. 19, respectively.
On Saturday night, drones lit up the sky during a Sammy Hagar concert — the last concert to be held at Thunder Valley’s Outdoor Amphitheater — to announce the three-night grand-opening of The Venue at Thunder Valley, a $100 million, 150,000 square-foot theater currently under construction in Lincoln, Calif.
Casino Rewards Members will have a chance to purchase tickets on Thursday, Oct. 6, with public onsale for the shows beginning on Oct. 7.
“It’s going to be one of the finest places to watch a show on the West Coast,” Jon Bow, entertainment director at Thunder Valley, previously told VenuesNow. “It will have about 4,600 seats. We’re still playing around with the configuration, but we’re going to have some A-list entertainment there. We’re really looking to step up to the next level on several of our shows for 2023.”
The Outdoor Amphitheater at Thunder Valley has hosted a regular outdoor concert season at the property, with Bow saying this year includes hosting more than 30 concerts, on the busy side of a usual year. That’s coming to a close with the opening of The Venue, which will see year-long concerts and sporting events.
“For over 18 years, Thunder Valley has prided itself on providing award-winning entertainment, services, and accommodations, and opening The Venue is the pinnacle of our commitment to our guests,” said Dawn Clayton, General Manager of Thunder Valley. “The Venue at Thunder Valley allows us to expand our entertainment footprint in a big way as we continue to position ourselves as the industry leader in Northern California. We are extremely excited to welcome you to The Venue at Thunder Valley for our extraordinary grand opening weekend in February.”
