Bishop, CA (June 30, 2025) — It is with deep sadness that the Bishop Paiute Tribe announces on May 22nd that former Chairman Tilford Denver has passed away.
Tilford Paul Denver passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 69.
Tilford Denver was born on August 11, 1955, in Bishop, CA. He was known for his fun personality, humor, kindness, Tribal Leadership, always helping others, active roles in State, Local, and Tribal Government boards and committees and supporting our Tribal Community. Tilford Paul Denver dedicated his life to working for the Owens Valley Community Development and the Bishop Paiute Tribe, leaving behind a legacy of over 40 years of Tribal Government experience and many more accomplishments and qualities.
A viewing was held at 659 N Tu Su Lane on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service took place on June 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Barlow Lane Gymnasium, followed by burial at Sunland Indian Cemetery and a potluck luncheon at the Barlow Lane Gymnasium.
He will always be remembered for his outgoing demeanor and love of family and friends.
Tilford P. Denver is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by Mother Rosalind M. Denver, Father Connie Mack Denver Sr., brothers, Connie Mack Denver Jr, Reginal Denver, George Denver, sister, Gwendolyn Denver, Ava Denver, Marilyn Denver, Nancy Denver, and Maureen Denver.
