Veteran Gaming Executive Returns to Drive Marketing Strategy, Brand Growth and Innovation

Flagstaff, Ariz. (June 26, 2025) – John James, CEO of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (Navajo Gaming), proudly announces the return of Michael Michaud as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Michaud brings more than 35 years of hands-on casino operations and marketing leadership experience to the role, including several years previously spent with Navajo Gaming.

“We’re delighted to welcome Michael back to the Navajo Gaming family,” said CEO John James. “He’s a trusted, proven leader who brings not only unmatched industry experience but a deep commitment to our mission. His return comes at a pivotal time as we look to expand our brand reach and elevate the guest experience across all properties.”

Michaud has held nearly every position in a casino throughout his long career, most recently serving as CEO of Leech Lake Gaming in north central Minnesota. His extensive background includes work with several successful tribal operations including the Ho-Chunk Nation, Seminole Tribe of Florida, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, and of course, the Navajo Nation. In 2012, he and his team were honored as the Barona/VCAT Indian Gaming Tribal Marketing Team of the Year. Known for his inventive marketing approach and results-driven programs, Michaud blends creative innovation with servant leadership to inspire teams and deliver revenue-generating solutions.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Michaud will oversee all aspects of brand strategy, advertising, digital marketing, guest loyalty, promotions, and public relations across Navajo Gaming’s portfolio: Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort, Fire Rock Navajo Casino, Northern Edge Navajo Casino, Flowing Water Navajo Casino, and the Navajo Blue Travel Plaza. He will be tasked with advancing guest engagement, building brand equity, and aligning marketing efforts with the Navajo Nation’s broader economic and cultural goals.

“I’m incredibly honored to rejoin Navajo Gaming,” said Michaud. “This organization has always meant a great deal to me. I look forward to working alongside this talented team to build on our legacy and create powerful, memorable experiences for our guests while supporting the growth and prosperity of the Navajo Nation.”
