Jamul Casino Reaches Major Construction Milestone With Topping Off of Hotel Tower

JAMUL, CA (July 16, 2024) – The Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation (JIVDC), a wholly owned enterprise of the Jamul Indian Village Tribe, celebrated a milestone in the construction of Jamul Casino’s brand-new, 16-story hotel tower with a topping off ceremony to place the structure’s final beam on Friday, July 12. Featuring 200 beautifully appointed rooms, including 52 spacious suites, and a curated collection of leisure experiences, the highly anticipated hotel is slated to open in the spring of 2025.

During the ceremony, the Jamul Casino executive team and Jamul Indian Village tribal members signed the final steel beam, and Jamul Indian Village Tribal Elder Kenny Meza performed a traditional blessing of the building. Adorned with the Jamul Indian Village flag, the beam was then raised to the top of the tower, signifying the completion of a major construction phase.

Mary Cheeks, President & General Manager of Jamul Casino, Jamul Indian Village Tribal Council members Teresa Cousins and James Cuero, C.W. Driver Companies Senior Project Manager Brandon Silveira and JCJ Architecture Senior Project Architect Stephen Frazier thanked the crowd for their support and spoke to the hotel’s progress, its importance to Jamul Indian Village and what it will offer Jamul Casino’s visitors, and the day concluded with a luncheon to thank the construction workers building the premier hotel.

“After years of conceptualizing and planning, we are proud to mark this significant milestone in Jamul Casino’s history,” said Erica M. Pinto, Chairwoman of the Jamul Indian Village and Chairwoman of the JIVDC Board. “We are appreciative of our partners at C.W. Driver Companies as they help bring this vision to life, and we cannot wait to open the hotel doors and invite guests to experience it for themselves next year.”

Originally imagined as a crystalline jewel box floating against the Jamul mountains, the boutique hotel will redefine the area’s hospitality market. Casino guests will be able to stay where they play, accessing the state-of-the-art hotel and its offerings through a climate-controlled, enclosed pedestrian sky bridge. Among the luxurious amenities will be an approximately 4,800-square-foot restaurant with sweeping views of the surrounding area, retail space, meeting and banquet facilities, a full-service spa and salon with an outdoor deck, a fitness center, luxury guest rooms and suites for VIP guests and an 11,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck with a jetted hot tub, cabanas and a rooftop bar.
