Comanche Nation Entertainment Launches Initiative to Honor Elders Every Sunday in 2024

LAWTON, Okla. (February 8, 2024) – Comanche Nation Entertainment (CNE) has launched a year-long initiative to celebrate Elders of the Comanche Nation.  Every Sunday in 2024, Comanche Elders are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast at Comanche Nation Casino in Lawton or Comanche Red River Hotel Casino in Devol. They can also receive $20 in Comanche Credit for free play at all six Comanche Nation Entertainment properties throughout Southwest Oklahoma.

“Our Elder population is among the most revered within the Comanche Nation,” said Shandi Tahhahwah, General Manager of Comanche Nation Casino in Lawton, Comanche Cache Casino in Cache and Comanche Spur Casino in Elgin. “They pass on our historical and cultural knowledge to our younger generations and ensure community stability. It is vital that we show our appreciation where we can.”

Elders interested in participating in the program can present their Comanche Nation enrollment card to the player’s club to receive an Elder Comanche Rewards Club card. Each card is specially marked with “Elder,” allowing team members to optimize their guest experience. To be eligible, Elders must be enrolled members of the Comanche Nation and over the age of 62.

Since implementing the initiative in early January, Comanche Nation Entertainment has seen a substantial response, highlighting the need for connectivity among Elders in the community.

“The turnout and positive feedback we’ve received from our Elders is why we do what we do. It is important to give them a reason to connect, gather and most of all, have fun,” said Tahhahwah. “This is more than just an initiative; it’s a way for us to give back to those who have contributed so much to our community.”

Through the program, Comanche Nation Entertainment acknowledges the role Elders play in the longevity of the community and culture. This initiative is one of many to support special groups within the community.  The company also offers special programs for veterans and first responders, among others.
