Chicken Ranch Rancheria Me-Wuk Indians of California Seeks Community Partners for Transitional Age Youth Program

JAMESTOWN, CA (October 24, 2024)—The Chicken Ranch Rancheria Me-Wuk Indians of California are calling on community partners to join them in supporting youth and young adults ages 18 to 24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. In addition to the services, the Tribe will open its youth transitional housing later this year.

The program aims to empower youth by providing safe housing, life skills training such as cooking, budgeting, how to gain employment and educational services, helping them become stable, self-sufficient and engaged members of their community.

“We are deeply committed to supporting the youth and young adults in our community who are at risk of homelessness,” stated LeeAnn Hatton, Community and Social Services Administrator of the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians. “The launch of our upcoming transitional housing program is a critical step in that mission, and we invite the community to join us in making a lasting impact.”
