The Yurok Tribe’s Mad River Brewery and California State Parks’ Redwood District celebrate the second brew in the series

(April 19, 2023) –Mad River Brewery and the State Park are teaming up to promote the release of Canyon of Dreams DIPA, a sustainably produced craft beer in a State Park series from the tribally owned brewery. Canyon of Dreams is the second beer in the series, following Historic State Park IPA, which debuted in 2021. “We are grateful for this opportunity to highlight a meaningful partnership that is inspiring change,” said Linda Cooley, Yurok tribal member and CEO of Mad River Brewery. “This beer is for the dreamers out there, and we dream of a future when Indigenous people everywhere have access to their ancestral land.”

The label features a wondrous scene that takes the viewer back in time—canyon walls glisten with lush ferns set amongst ancient Redwoods. Rays of light illuminate the canyon floor, the breathtaking spectacle bestowing reverence for the beauty of Yurok Country.

“This new release is yet another example of Mad River Brewery (with the Yurok Tribe) highlighting places on public land that have been managed by Yurok people for thousands of years.” said California State Parks Redwood District Superintendent Victor Bjelajac. Yurok ancestral territory is located in present-day northern California, stretching from the Little River in the south to Damnation Creek in the north.

“Our labels and our products and the meaning behind them is very personal,” said Cooley. “Mad River Brewery has championed holistic and environmentally sustainable practices since the beginning, and this extension of our story through our products is connecting they ‘why’ of our practices to the world around us.” Cooley continued, “We are proud to offer a package that exemplifies these endeavors while delivering award-winning flavor.”

Canyon of Dreams Double IPA boasts a malty, hoppy punch, fresh piney flavor, and citrus aroma.
