Registration Now Open: Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association Hosts Fourth Annual National Indigenous Cannabis Policy Summit in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 11-13

The fourth annual National Indigenous Industry and Policy Summit convenes Tribal leaders, advocates, and policymakers to discuss cannabis legalization in Indian Country

Washington DC, (October 2, 2025) —Registration is now open for the Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association’s (ICIA) fourth annual National Indigenous Cannabis Policy Summit! The theme for this year’s Summit, taking place November 11-13 in Washington, D.C., is “Breaking Down Barriers, Beyond Borders: Indigenous Rising in Plant Medicine”.

At one of the most critical times in our shared history, Indigenous leaders, innovators, and knowledge keepers are uniting to advance the cannabis and hemp industries through sovereignty, equity, and sustainability. This Summit is a call to action: to dismantle systemic barriers, transcend borders, and uplift Indigenous voices at the forefront of plant medicine.

Guided by a holistic vision, we approach this plant as more than medicine – recognizing its potential as a commodity that is industrial, medicinal, and economic. Together, we reclaim ancestral wisdom while building modern frameworks that ensure cannabis and hemp serve our communities with balance, prosperity, and purpose. This gathering strengthens pathways for future generations, rooted in cultural values and grounded in innovation.

The annual gathering offers a platform for centering Indigenous voices in the conversation around a rapidly growing industry, expected to reach almost $45 billion in revenue in 2025. Cannabis is also a matter of public health, offering a plant-based alternative to harmful opioids in the face of a crisis that disproportionately affects Indigenous people.

The nationwide gathering brings together key industry leaders, including Tribal leaders, policymakers, businesses, healthcare professionals, veterans groups, and advocacy organizations, to explore the future of plant-based medicine in Indian Country.

The question of how to engage with the cannabis industry (among others) will be addressed during the National Indigenous Cannabis Policy Summit, a chance for Indigenous people to share insights, experiences and resources. Attendees of the three-day conference will leave with actionable insights into sustainable cannabis operations and its effect on Indigenous communities.

Registration is open for the 2025 Indigenous Cannabis Industry & Policy Summit at  indigenouscannabis.org/policy-summit.
