2025 Tribal Leadership Conference Will Feature a THRP Leader Certification Offered by NNAHRA

LAWTON, OKLAHOMA (November 11, 2024) – The Tribal Leadership Council (TLC) is pleased to announce that the 2025 Tribal Leadership Conference will offer a Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) Leader Certification from the National Native American Human Resources Association (NNAHRA).

“This is such an exciting opportunity that will provide a different prospective on how to enhance decision making, strengthen strategic alignment, and provide guidance during times of change within tribal organizations. Tribal organizations are unique, and for that reason, tailoring the overall concepts to meet our needs as Tribal Nations will be extremely beneficial. We are building for the future by offering tools to nourish and support our Indigenous leaders and communities,” said Mauricia Chavarria, TLC Treasurer.

This course is designed for the non-human resources leader including tribal council members and various executives for the tribal government and tribal enterprises.

The Purpose: Effective Governance is led by knowing how to engage employees at all levels of the organization thru organizational development and human resource best practices. This session will focus on sovereignty, jurisdiction, and workforce capacity building for the Tribe.

Key Objectives:

  1. Leading a Tribe’s valuable asset, employees, thru master and strategic plans and cascading to tactical and operations plans that impact employees every day
  2. Discuss employment codes, policies, and procedures
  3. Conducting compensation and benefits surveys and studies
  4. Value of employee engagement surveys
  5. Tribal member and employee career development and succession planning
  6. Leadership role in the investigation and grievance process

“We are excited to work with NNAHRA to bring this educational opportunity to the 2025 Tribal Leadership Conference. Ensuring tribal and enterprise leadership are equipped with the tools they need is a priority.
