Circling Raven Garners Elite Distinction Nationally from Golfweek and USA TODAY

Coeur d’Alene Tribe-owned course designed by Gene Bates earns Top 100 ranking

Worley, Idaho (January 29, 2026) – Circling Raven Golf Club improved by 15 places from last year’s ranking of America’s “Top 200 U.S. Resort Courses,” an annual compilation of the finest places to play in the U.S. that is published conjointly by Golfweek and USA TODAY.

The Gene Bates-designed layout climbed to No. 98 in this year’s list, which was unveiled this month. Underscoring the top-echelon quality of this accolade and its recipients are other list members, an array of iconic and revered golf venues ranging from Bandon Dunes and Kiawah Island to Pinehurst and Pebble Beach.

Owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe (and named for a seminal tribal chief), Circling Raven spectacularly winds over more than 600 acres of ancestral homelands and heaving Palouse Region terrain – four times more acreage than the average course globally.

“As with all amenities of our Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel, Circling Raven was built to provide guests and visitors to our property with an inspiring leisure option – just like our spa, restaurants, and casino,” said Laura Penney, CEO. “We are honored that Golfweek and USA TODAY rate Circling Raven so highly – positive reinforcement that we are successfully paying homage to our tribal ancestors and using the land in a meaningful, nurturing way while providing exceptional experiences for our guests.”

The only other nearby resort course included in the list is at Coeur d’Alene Resort, which is rated No. 169 (it was ranked 161 in 2025).

Circling Raven’s landscape includes no surrounding development. The pristine natural setting inspires and revitalizes golfers. Superb playing conditions are equally well regarded. Circling Raven consistently maintains first-class tees, fairways, and greens – a fact that was often and emphatically praised by women professional players who competed in the Circling Raven Championship, an Epson “Road to the LPGA” Tour event played here from 2021-2023).

Bates’ inspired vision for the property yielded an array of diverse yet complementary holes that are as memorable as they are scintillating. Located approximately 50 minutes from Spokane International Airport (GEG), Circling Raven measures 7,189 yards from the rear tee boxes. A nationally honored retail shop and the excellent Twisted Earth Grill at the award-winning clubhouse provides superb food, beverages, and an astounding array of merchandise options.
