Red Hawk Casino Announces Temporary Closure of Casino Through End of March as Precautionary Measure Against COVID-19

Red Hawk Casino announced today that the casino will be temporarily closing due to the COVID-19 outbreak in California effective Wednesday, March 18 at 6am. The safety and well-being of the team members, guests and community are of the utmost importance to the leadership team at Red Hawk Casino. While there have been no confirmed cases of COVD-19 among the team members, casino guests, or community of El Dorado County, the casino feels this precautionary closure is in the best interest amid the growing concerns over COVID-19.

“We’ve made this difficult decision to voluntarily close casino operations temporarily for the health and safety of our team members, guests and surrounding community,” said Regina Cuellar, Tribal Chairwoman of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. “During this temporary closure, all casino team members will receive their base pay and benefits.”

Additional measures put in place by Red Hawk Casino for their team members includes waiving copayments and co-insurance for medically necessary screening and testing for COVID-19 at Kaiser Permanente owned and operated hospitals, emergency rooms, medical offices, and urgent care facilities.

Casino operations updates will be shared with team members and the community as they are made available. In the event that the casino opens sooner, or needs to extend the temporary closure, an update will be posted to the redhawkcasino.com website and posted on social media channels.
